Just about all the corporations on the flag can be publicly traded and stock owned in them. This means that you own a part of them. If they really do have all the power then you can own part of that power too. The way the laws and current interest rates are set, you should really take advantage of investing. Long buys and dividends pay about 15% (about 1/2 of normal income tax) and they are set this way to encourage investing. Invest in a company and share their success while paying less taxes.

Ok lets take a look at the REIT sector. A Real Estate Investment Trust is required by law to pay out 90% of its profits as dividends to its share holders. The reason for this is so the REIT doesn't have to pay taxes. The dividends to the share holders are taxed instead at 15%. This encourages REITs to exist and investors to invest.

One REIT in particular is AGNC. This stock pays out about $1.40 (about 5%) a share dividend a quarter. This means that it pays out a 20% APR return!!! It has been paying out this dividend since the 2nd quarter of 2009. I currently have 500 shares of this stock and I expect it to pay out another dividend sometime in March. With 500 shares and $1.40 a share, I will get a check for $700 bucks and if they keep paying though out the year I'll get a total of $2800. That's no joke.

Save your money and while you're waiting for it to build up, research stocks so you can find one you will want to put money in. You might not be able to invest in those corporations on the flag but the markets are very diverse. Educate yourself and reap the benefits!
